Asian Games 2022: Sania Mirza, Bopanna along with two other tennis players included in TOPS till Asiad

The Sports Ministry has included the name of tennis stars Sania Mirza, Rohan Bopanna, Ankita Raina, and Ramkumar Ramanathan for the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) till 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.

After receiving a request from the All India Tennis Association, the Sports Ministry's Mission Olympic Cell decided to include a quartet for TOPS.

Earlier, Sania Mirza has decided to take retirement from tennis after the 2022 season. The inclusion in the TOPS scheme means extra funding for the athletes as 2022 is an important year not just due to Asian Games but also the Commonwealth Games.
