Ashleigh Barty announces retirement from professional Tennis at the age of 25

In a surprise move, world number one Ashleigh Barty has decided to retire from professional tennis at the age of 25.

Barty's move has come as a surprise for many given she was at peak of her game. However, the Australian tennis star felt otherwise as she cited personal fulfilment of her tennis goals and fatigue with life on the Tour as the reasons behind her decision.

An emotional Barty broke the news through an Instagram post and said she has so many dreams that she wants to chase.

Ashleigh Barty retires from Tennis with 15 titles. She won the Australia Open this year after winning Wimbledon in 2021 and the French Open in 2019.
