She has done it again!

India’s Mirabai Chanu has won Gold at the Birmingham Games, India’s first-top place finish at this year’s event.

The Olympic silver medalist added yet another Commonwealth Gold to her cabinet with a superb show in the women’s 49-kg category.

Nobody, just nobody was in the running for the Gold medal except Mirabai Chanu. She created a CWG record on her way to bagging the top spot.

The diminutive weightlifter lifted a total weight of 201 kg, 88 kg in snatch and 113 kg in Clean and Jerk - a Commonwealth Games record.

The weightlifter from Manipur won silver in 2014, Gold in 2018 and now she’s made it a second gold medal at the Commonwealth Games this time in Birmingham.

She’s India’s true champion!
