KKR Announces Leadership Changes: Rahane as Captain, Iyer as Vice-Captain for IPL 2025

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has appointed Ajinkya Rahane as their captain and Venkatesh Iyer as the vice-captain for the IPL 2025 season.

KKR CEO Venky Mysore expressed excitement about Rahane's leadership, citing his experience and maturity, while highlighting Iyer's leadership qualities and status as a key player for the franchise. He expressed confidence in their partnership as KKR aims to defend its title.

Venkatesh Iyer was acquired by KKR for an impressive Rs 23.75 crore at the auction, while Rahane joined the team for Rs 1.5 crore. Rahane, acknowledging his new role, stated it is an honor to lead one of the IPL's most successful franchises.

He expressed confidence in the squad and looked forward to the challenge of defending their title.

KKR's campaign kicks off on March 22 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
