Bernardo Silva scored twice as Manchester City trounced Sporting Lisbon 5-0 in the UEFA Champions League's round of 16 game on Tuesday night.

The goal-fest started with a superb goal from Riyad Mahrez who brilliantly pushed the volley from Kevin de Bruyne in the 7th minute.

City were simply unstoppable after the early goal as Silva doubled the lead in the 17th minute before Phil Foden netted another in the 32nd minute.

The English champions literally sealed the game before half-time after Silva scored his second goal in the 44th minute, giving his team a 4-0 lead at the break.

Lisbon were no match against City in the second half too as Raheem Sterling made it 5-0 with a sublime curling effort in the 58th minute.

Pep Guardiola's side will now host Sporting Lisbon for the second leg of the Round of 16 match on March 9.
