As many experts, including former Australian cricketer Tom Moody, criticising Nitish Rana's decision to bowl the first over in KKR's game vs Rajasthan Royals, Venkatesh Iyer has come out in his captain's defense.
In the post match interaction with media, Iyer said that had the move worked out, it would have been a masterstroke from the captain.
After setting Rajasthan a total of 150, Rana decided to open the bowling for KKR and his over went for 26 runs, which set up the run-chase nicely for the Royals.
Yashasvi Jaiswal wreaked havoc as Rajasthan went to win the game by 9 wickets with 41 balls to spare.
