The atmosphere thickened at the Arun Jaitley Stadium as the evening progressed on Saturday.
Chasing 182, DC were cruising at a fine pace when things went awry during RCB pacer Mohd Siraj’s second over.
After Siraj bowled a wide ball to DC opener Phil Salt, an exchange ensued between the two players which quickly went south with the RCB pacer speaking animatedly.
The presence of the field umpire and DC skipper David Warner made no difference to Siraj, who was fuming. It took an intervention from Bangalore’s captain Faf du Plessis to calm the pacer down.
This is not the first time Mohd Siraj has had an altercation with an opposition player.
In RCB’s last match against Lucknow Super Giants, Siraj got into a minor scuffle with Lucknow’s Naveen-ul-Haq, who also had an argument with RCB’s Virat Kohli.
