In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Ambati Rayudu, a former batter for both the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), expressed his desire to see Rohit Sharma soon exchange the blue of MI for the yellow of CSK.

Rohit Sharma is set to play IPL 2024 just as a player and there are doubts over him staying in the MI setup if the mega auction takes place next year.

Ambati Rayudu backed the Indian captain Rohit Sharma to continue playing in the IPL and captain too.

“Rohit Sharma can play IPL for the next 5-6 years. if he wants to captain, the whole world is open for him. He can easily captain wherever he wants,” Rayudu was quoted as saying on News24‘s YouTube channel.

“I want Rohit Sharma to play for CSK in 2025, if MS (Dhoni) retires then Rohit can lead as well,” Rayudu added.

Rohit has been a terrific captain in the IPL, however, he has struggled with the bat in the last seven seasons and the 2024 season could be crucial from the Mumbai Indians and Team India perspective given there's a T20 World Cup to be played immediately after the cash-rich league.
