The Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans finally had something to cheer for as RCB ended their 6-match losing run and beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 35 runs on Thursday.

Faf du Plessis' decision to not let SRH bat first was the right call as Bengaluru finished at 206/7.

While Virat Kohli laid the foundation with a 43-ball-51, Rajat Patidar smashed his second-consecutive half-century off just 19 balls, the 2nd-quickest for RCB in the history of the IPL.

SRH had a rather unusual run-chase as in-form Travis Head was dismissed for just 1 in the very first over.

His partner in crime Abhishek Sharma counter-attacked but his innings was cut short on a 13-ball-31.

Aiden Markram and a dangerous Heinrich Klaasen also fell in the same over as RCB debutant Swapnil Singh got rid of the two.

The hosts never recovered from that and could only manage 171/8 in reply. As a result, SRH were handed their first loss in 5 matches.
