In the 67th match of IPL 2024, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Mumbai Indians by 18 runs on Friday. Playing first in the match, after scoring 214 runs for six wickets, LSG restricted Mumbai's innings to 196 runs for six wickets.
Even after this victory, the Lucknow team led by KL Rahul is out of the tournament owing to poor run rate.
On the other hand, due to the victory of Lucknow, Delhi has also been eliminated from the tournament. Both Delhi and Lucknow have 14 points in 14 matches.
So far, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad have qualified for the playoffs, while there is a tough competition between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore for the last place.
But rains threaten to spoil this mega contest on May 18. If the match is washed out then the Chennai team will qualify for the playoffs.
