Before Delhi Capitals' spin duo of Axar Patel-Kuldeep Yadav stepped in, the ruthless Sunrisers Hyderabad openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma looked in no mood to stop their carnage.

From the joint-fastest IPL 2024 half-century by Travis Head to the highest powerplay score in T20 cricket, the visitors were on a roll on Saturday.

Bettering his own record of an 18-ball fifty this season, Head moved up a notch and scored a half-century in just 16 balls. Head now shares the record with teammate Abhishek Sharma for the second-fastest IPL fifty of 2024.

Head's fifty came in 2.6 overs after he faced 18 deliveries. It was the highest invidivual score at the end of 3 overs across the T20 format.

In a mere five overs, Hyderabad had amassed 100 runs, making it the fastest team century in IPL since 2008.

Upping the ante, the duo then took the Delhi bowlers on a ride, scoring 125 runs in 6 overs, now the highest score in T20 cricket in the powerplay.

Hyderabad didn't eclipse their record of the highest IPL score, but they managed to outshine themselves in the first-10 overs scores yet again this season.

After two high-scoring encounters versus Mumbai saw them breach the 140-run mark in 10 overs, SRH achieved a whopping 158 runs for the loss of 4 wickets against Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

With their 266/7 vs Delhi, SRH have scored 250+ scores thrice this in 2024 so far. It is also the fourth highest total in IPL history.
