In a body blow for the Lucknow Super Giants, captain KL Rahul had to go off after pulling his hamstring in just the second over of the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The incident took place on the final delivery of the 2nd over when Rahul gave chase to a drive from opposing captain Faf du Plessis.

Rahul who was running towards the extra cover boundary, pulled up few metres before the rope and was grimacing in pain when the medical staff ran out. After being tended to, he was helped off the field.

This is not the first time Rahul has sustained a hamstring injury. He missed the tour of Zimbabwe last year due to hamstring trouble. He had also undergone surgery on a recurring groin issue prior to that.
