Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson who has remarkably led the team to 4 wins out of 5 fixtures in IPL 2023, was once again talk of the town for his quickfire 60 off 32 deliveries against Gujarat Titans on April 16.

After RR lost big wickets in quick succession, their captain walked onto the field to stabilise the innings that was then taken forward by Shimron Hetmyer to finish off in style.

Heaping praises on Samson’s spectacular performance, former India great Harbhajan Singh said, ‘We've seen another captain's knock from Sanju. I have said in the past and still believe that he should be a regular feature in the Indian national side (in white ball format).’

The right-handed batter has suffered a poor fate when it comes to selection for the Indian cricket team. Time and again, Samson has been snubbed by the national selectors, much to the dismay of his fans and cricket pundits.

Advocating for Samson’s batting skills lower down the order, Harbhajan likened the player to former India captain MS Dhoni, ‘He plays spinners and fast bowlers with equal ease. He knows how to absorb pressure and is a strong-willed player. He has faith in his abilities, just like MS Dhoni.’
