Chasing a modest 155-run target, Abhishek and Kane Williamson provided Hyderabad a superb start as the duo stitched 89-run opening stand. Chennai were never in the game as Abhishek kept the tempo going after Williamson's dismissals. Rahul Tripathi joined Abhishek in the middle and smashed 39 runs in 15 balls. Sunrisers registered their first victory in IPL 2022 and chased down the target with 14 balls to spare.
Earlier, Chennai were off to a shaky start as their openers, Robin Uthappa and Ruturaj Gaikwad, failed again and went back to pavilion inside the powerplay. Then, Moeen Ali and Ambati Rayudu brought CSK back in the game with 62-run stand. However, the yellow brigade faltered again in the death overs as Ravindra Jadeja did not get much support from other end. MS Dhoni hit three runs from six deliveries while Bravo managed to find only one boundary off the 5 deliveries he faced. Thus CSK posted a modest 154-7 in 20 Overs.
