Lucknow Super Giants have jumped to the top spot on IPL 2022 points table after they trounced Kolkata Knight Riders in a one-sided tie on Saturday (May 7). After a 75-run victory, Lucknow's net run rate saw a major correction and now they have the best net run rate among 10 teams. Meanwhile, Kolkata's hopes of playoffs qualification saw a major dent given they can now attain a maximum of 14 points if they win their remaining three matches.

Earlier in the day, Rajasthan registered their seventh victory and strengthen their position on IPL 2022 team rankings with 14 points in 11 games. Punjab, meanwhile, stayed at the seventh spot after losing against Rajasthan.

Gujarat are at the second spot with 16 points in 11 games.

The IPL 2022 points table would see a major rejig after the doubleheader on Sunday given that mid-table teams Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals are scheduled to play on Sunday.

Moreover, Jos Buttler continues to be the leading run-scorer in IPL 2022 with 618 runs in 11 games and currently holding the orange cap. Rajasthan's Yuzvendra Chahal is currently holding the purple cap with 22 wickets in 11.
