Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is likely to make Shreyas Iyer the captain for the IPL 2022 season after buying the Indian cricketer for a whopping Rs 12.25 crore during the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
Earlier, Iyer represented Delhi Capitals in three previous IPL seasons and led the team to the final in the 2020 edition. Iyer was ruled out of IPL 2021's second leg in UAE due to a shoulder injury.

The 27-year old Iyer made his IPL debut in 2015 while playing for then Delhi Daredevils. He has scored 2375 runs in 87 matches in IPL at an average of 31.67 and a strike rate of 123.96, including 16 fifties.
