Gujarat Titans have confirmed their flight for Kolkata to play the Qualifier 1 as they defeated Chennai Super Kings by 7 wickets and registered their 10th win in IPL 2022 on Sunday at Wankhede Stadium.
Chasing a below-par 134-run target, Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill put up a 59-run opening stand. Saha kept his wicket intact on one end and went on to score his fifty. He remained unbeaten on 67 runs as Gujarat chased down the target easily with 5 balls to spare.
Earlier, Chennai were off to a poor start as Mohammed Shami removed Devon Conway early. Gaikwad then forged a 57-run stand with Moeen Ali and steadied CSK innings. Gaikwad went on to score a fifty but failed to up the ante. Meanwhile, CSK suffered a middle-order collapse and could add only 24 runs in the last five overs. Narayan Jagadeesan remained unbeaten on 39 off 33 balls as CSK post 133-5 in 20 overs.
