IPL 2022 Final: Rajasthan Royals maintain a 12-year-old IPL tradition

Rajasthan Royals did not break a 12-year-old tradition of the Indian Premier League as they qualified for the finals in the 15th edition of the lucrative league. Since 2011, every year, teams qualifying in the 2nd spot on the IPL points table have made it to the final.

In the 2022 season too, Rajasthan Royals who qualified at the 2nd spot in the table reached the finals after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in Qualifier 2 of the IPL. The team won by 7 wickets on the back of an unbeaten sensational 106 run knock by Jos Buttler. 

The Sanju Samson-led-side who had won the 2008, inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League have entered the finals after 14 years. They will now face debutants Gujarat Titans for the IPL 2022 finals on 29th May at the Motera Stadium, Ahmedabad.
