When the teams were reshuffled during the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions and the Royal Challengers Bangalore picked Dinesh Karthik, even they would not have gauged the unfathomable power that the 36-year-old would bring with him.

Karthik has been the ultimate finisher for the Faf du Plessis-led side. Amassing a total of 287 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 191, DK had pulled out RCB from many dangerous situations and helped them finally make it to the playoffs this season. His performance grabbed eyeballs which in turn earned him his call-up for the upcoming 5-match T20 series vs South Africa.

The exhilarated wicketkeeper-batter who had set his heart on playing for India shared a very emotional note on Twitter after getting his India call-up. He wrote, 'If you believe in yourself, everything will fall into place! Thank you for all the support and belief...the hard work continues...'
The RCB star finisher will return to Team India after the 2019 World Cup semifinal which India lost against new Zealand.

BCCI named an 18-member squad for the home series which is set to begin on 9th June.
