Manchester City defended their Premier League title after Pep Guardiola's side defeated Aston Villa on the final day of the league.

It is Manchester City's sixth Premier League title and the 4th one in the last five seasons.

City needed only a win to retain the title but Guardiola's men faltered miserably in the first half and conceded a goal in the 37th minute. Aston Villa doubled the lead in the 69th minute. However, the defending champions displayed magical stuff after the 75th minute and scored three consecutive goals in the span of 5 minutes and registered a famous win at Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City had a tremendous season in Premier League and were leading the charts by 12 points in February against second-placed Liverpool. However, they stumbled mid-way and it came down to the final day to find the Premier League winner.

The Premier League title would come as a major boost for City after they were knocked out by Real Madrid in the Champions League semifinal.
