South African players are set to miss the first three weeks of IPL 2022 as the Rainbow Nation is scheduled to host Bangladesh from March 18 to April 12.

With Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Marco Jansen, and Lungi Ngidi being the core of South Africa's bowling attack, it is still not certain whether they would be released by their board before the Test series against Bangladesh.

Moreover, Delhi Capitals would be fretting over the fitness of Nortje who has not bowled a lot since November and failed to find a place in the ODI series vs Bangladesh.

However, Faf du Plessis is set to participate in IPL 2022 from start given he has retired from International cricket.

The other South African players that are set to miss the start of IPL 2022 are Dwayne Pretorius, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, and David Miller as they are named in South Africa ODI squad.

South Africa are set to play three ODIs, starting March 18 followed by two Tests, beginning March 31.
