England Test captain, Ben Stokes, who has played only 2 matches for the Chennai Super Kings this season, will return home before the IPL playoffs.

Stokes, a ₹16.25 CR buy, has not played since April 3, initially missing out due to a toe injury. Even though the all-rounder has recovered, he has been unable to find a place in the Playing XI with CSK using Devon Conway, Moeen Ali,  Maheesh Theekshana & Matheesha Pathirana as their four overseas stars.

According to an ESPNCricinfo report, the 31-year-old will fly back to the UK following CSK's last league match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday. He had previously expressed his intention to return and participate in England's Test against Ireland at Lord's on June 1, ahead of the Ashes that starts on June 16.
