South African cricketer Aiden Markram has been named Sunrisers Hyderabad's captain after the 29-year-old led SRH's sister franchise Sunrisers Eastern Cape to win the inaugural SA20 league title win.
While Mayank Agarwal was among the strongest contenders, Markram will take over the captaincy role from Kane Williamson, who was released from the franchise and was bought by Gujarat Titans for the 2023 edition.
Markram who joined SRH last year emerged as the 3rd highest run-getter for the team with 381 runs in 12 innings in IPL 2022.
