Punjab Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 runs on DLS method as rain stopped play restricting KKR at 146/7 in 16 overs in Mohali on Saturday.
Put to bat first, Punjab got off to a brilliant start courtesy of Prabhsimran's 12- ball 23.Skipper Shikhar Dhawan (40) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (50) then took charge of the innings and helped Punjab in posting a challenging target of 192 for the Knight Riders.
Chasing which, Kolkata saw themselves struggling at 29/3 in 4.2 overs as Arshdeep Singh took 3 wickets to dismantle the KKR top order.
Andre Russell came on later in the innings and showed some promise with his 19-ball 35. However, rain stopped play at the end of the 16th over which eventually saw Punjab being declared as the winners by 7 runs on DLS method.
