Delhi Capitals continued their winning run at the Brabourne Stadium as they beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 21 runs on Thursday. Chasing a mammoth 208-run target, SRH was off to a shaky start and found themselves at 37/3.
Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram then steadied the innings with a 60-run stand for the 4th wicket. Despite losing his partner from South Africa for 42 runs, Pooran continued his onslaught and smashed a 34-ball-62.
But Khaleel Ahmed emerged as the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets as SRH could manage 186/8.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals were off to the worst possible start as Mandeep Singh got out in the first over without scoring. Mitchell Marsh too got out cheaply before Rishabh Pant and David Warner stitched a 48-run 3rd-wicket stand.
Shreyas Gopal then cut short Pant's innings for 26 runs after being hit for three consecutive sixes. Rovman Powell came out and counter-attacked from the word go and stitched an unbeaten 122-run stand with Warner, who remained not out on 92. The duo unleashed its power-hitting skills in the slog overs and powered Delhi to a mammoth 207-3.
