Team India registered a 67-run victory in the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka at Guwahati to kickstart their road to the 2023 World Cup on a bright note.

Batting first, Virat Kohli's 45th ODI hundred along with skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill's 143-run opening partnership steered India to a massive 373/7.

In reply, the Lankans never really were in the run-chase. Captain Dasun Shanaka though played a brilliant knock, scoring a sublime 108 not out off 88 balls in a losing cause.

Pathun Nissanka too scored 72 but others disappointed as the visitors were restricted to 306/8 in the end. Umran Malik was the top wicket-taker for India, with the Jammu Express snaffling 3 on the night.
