Australia was expected to fight back in the 2nd ODI and not many expected them to come out that hard. The Aussies thrashed India by 10 wickets to level the 3-match series 1-1.

Winning the toss proved to be crucial for Steve Smith as his decision to put India into bat proved right. Indian batters fell like a pack of cards as the hosts were bowled out for a mere 117, their lowest ODI total against Australia at home.

Mitchell Starc the chief destroyer, who picked up his 9th ODI 5-wicket haul, 3rd most in the one day format.

It turned out to be a completely different track when the Aussies came out to bat. Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head smashed a fiery fifty each, helping their side win in just 11 overs.

While it was Australia's 3rd biggest win in ODIs, it was India's heaviest defeat in the format by number of balls to spare.
