In what can be a major blow to Sri Lanka's ODI World Cup 2023 campaign, star all-rounder Wanindu Hasarnga is reportedly ruled out of ODI World Cup 2023.

Hasaranga had picked up a thigh strain during the Lanka Premier League and had even missed Asia Cup 2023 in order to regain fitness for the World Cup.

However, the 26-year-old hurt his hamstring during his rehabilitation which dashed all hopes of his return for the quadrennial event in India.

Sri Lanka squad for ICC World Cup 2023:

Dasun Shanaka (Captain), Pathum Nissanka, Dimuth Karunaratne, Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Dunith Wellalage, Matheesha Pathirana, Kasun Rajitha, Pramod Madushan, Dushmantha Chameera, Lahiru Kumara
