The Pakistan cricket team decided to skip their training session at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday, just 3 days ahead of their ODI World Cup 2023 clash against Australia.

According to a report in the Pakistan media, the team management opted to give a day's rest to the Pakistan players and recover from the defeat against arch-rivals India.

However, a few media reports claimed that a couple of players, including their young opening batter, Abdullah Shafique fell ill upon their arrival in the South Indian city. There has been no official confirmation of the same from the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Pakistan team arrived in Bengaluru on Sunday after their seven wicket defeat against arch-rivals India in Ahmedabad on the previous day.

The 'Garden City' has witnessed several cases of viral fever in the past few months though it could have been a case of weather change that led to minor health issues to the members of the visiting team.

Babar Azam's men will face 5-time champions Australia at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on October 20.
