A couple of days after India's harrowing loss to Australians in the Cricket World Cup final, former World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev advised the team to move on and learn from the mistakes.

Kapil Dev said, "Can’t carry on this blow for the rest of life. This is for the fans. A sportsman has to move on. What’s happened cannot be undone. Keep working hard. That’s what a sportsman is all about. They played really good cricket. Yes, they couldn’t cross the final hurdle. What we can learn from this mistake is what a sportsman is all about.”

Kapil Dev further dodged the question about him not being invited for the marquee final in Ahmedabad. He said, "everything is fine, now is not the time to think about this"

The hosts reached the final with a 10-match winning streak but faltered against Australia in the final as the Kangaroos lifted their record-extending 6th World Cup title vs India.
