La. Ganesan Iyer, the governor of West Bengal received a huge backlash from the sports fraternity and fans after a video of him shoving Sunil Chettri to get himself in the frame during the trophy-presentation ceremony did rounds on social media on Sunday.

Bengaluru FC made history as they won their maiden Durand Cup title, however, the celebrations were sullied when the Blues' captain Sunil Chhetri lined up to pose with the silverware.

While receiving the trophy he was pushed by Ganesan, who tried to get himself in the frame instead.

The minister was slammed by many, including former Indian batter Robin Uthappa as he replied to the video by saying 'that's just all sorts of wrong!! Sorry @chetrisunil11 you deserve so much better than this!!'
