UEFA Champions League: Karim Benzema's masterclass floors Chelsea as Real Madrid win big

After Karim Benzema's legendary hat-trick, Real Madrid defeated Chelsea by 3-1 in the 1st leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. With this hat-trick, Benzema has become the fourth player ever to score back-to-back hat-tricks in Champions League.

Benzema has been looking very impressive for the last couple of years. He has scored 42 goals in his last 42 games. He has scored 11 goals this season which is highest by any Frenchman in Champions League in a season.

In a post-match news conference, Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said, "He's better every day, like wine." The 2nd leg will now be played in Madrid on 13th April and after the hammering at the Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are all but out of competition.
