Pep Guardiola's men who are vying for their first title shone throughout the game with Rodri providing the hosts the lead in the 27th minute with a curling shot before Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland each found the net in the 70 and 76th minutes.
For Haaland-- this was his 45th goal for City in 39 games--- a record for any EPL player across competitions.
Meanwhile, Nicolo Barella's 51st-minute goal and Romelu Lukaku's 82nd-minute penalty gave Inter Milan a 2-0 lead in the first leg of the quarterfinal tie against Benfica.
