Defending Champions India started their 2023 SAFF Championship campaign with a morale boosting win against arch rivals Pakistan as the Blue Tigers thrashed the visitors 4-0 on the night.
Sunil Chhetri starred on the night with a hattrick to his name and substitute Udanta got one for him as well.
The match also witnessed a heated tussle between the players after Igor Stimac tried to stop a Pakistani player from taking a throw in the first half.
Stimac was shown a red card by the referee for the same.India will now take on Nepal on 24th June.
