Bhupinder Singh Gill etched his name in the history books as he became the first Sikh to preside over the role of an assistant referee in the Premier League.

The 37-year-old assisted Thomas Bramall, the referee alongside Marc Perry during the Nottingham Forest vs Southampton game.

Bhupinder is the son of Jarnail Singh, who was the first turbaned referee of the English league football. While he officiated over 150 EFL games, he could not make his debut in EPL.
