Paris St-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has become the target of a historic bid from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, who have offered a staggering €300 million for the French captain. The 24-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract with PSG and has declined to sign an extension, leading to speculations about his future.
In an effort to avoid losing him for free next summer, PSG is looking to sell Mbappe now. This bid, if successful, would surpass Neymar's €222m million move from Barcelona to PSG in 2017, currently holding the title for the most expensive transfer in football history.
Mbappe's potential move would not only break the existing transfer record but also place him among the top two highest fees ever paid for a player, considering his previous €180m million transfer from Monaco to PSG in 2017.
Despite the massive bid, Mbappe has expressed his desire to remain with PSG for one more year before leaving when his contract expires. It is widely believed that the forward's ultimate goal is to join Real Madrid at the end of this season.
