I-league suspended for a week after 8 players test positive

Amid the Covid-19 scare in the I-league camp, the organisers have decided to suspend it for a week. 

The next round of matches which were scheduled for December 30 and 31 will be rescheduled. The situation will be reviewed on Jan 4th, I-League Chairman Subrata Dutta told PTI.

Covid-19 breached the I-league bubble as 8 players and 3 officials have tested positive. While 8 people have tested positive in the Real Kashmir FC, Mohammedan Sporting, Aizwal FC and Sreenidi FC have one player each who has tested positive.  

As per the All India Football Federation the matches on January 4th will likely go ahead as per schedule if no new cases emerge.
