Former Chelsea & Italy striker Gianluca Vialli dies aged 58

Former Italian striker and Chelsea manager Gianluca Vialli has passed away at the age of 58.

Vialli, who was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2017 had claimed in 2020 that he was free from the illness, but he was re-diagnosed in 2021.

He represented Italy in 59 matches. He joined Juventus in 1992 and won the Champions League with the Turin club. In 1996, he was signed by Chelsea and went on to become the Blues' player-manager in 1998, the first Italian ever to manage a Premier League side.
