Mexican club Pumas announced that it was terminating Dani Alves' contract that he signed in July.

The club's president, Leopoldo Silva, said that his club could not keep the player on their squad.

Alves, who has been put under arrest after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Spain, will have to face trial after his bail was denied.

The veteran Brazilian right-back was taken to a prison near Barcelona on Friday.
