Manchester United confirmed on Sunday that they have reached an agreement with Ajax to sign defender Lisandro Martinez.
It will be the third summer signing for new manager Erik ten Hag since he took over at Old Trafford earlier this year. The will reunite him with centre back Martinez who was a key figure for the Dutchman at Ajax.
The 24-year-old flew to England over the weekend and is expected to sign a five-year contract for an initial €55m which could rise by a further €10m.
Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia have only recently signed for United, and Martinez will join them as long as medical, personal terms and a UK visa requirements are agreed.
United are currently on a pre-season tour of Australia but Martinez is not expected to join them until they return to England.
