Richarlison scored a stunning brace as hot favourites Brazil defeated Serbia 2-0 in their Group G opener in Lusail at the FIFA World Cup 2022.

After fighting for over an hour the Selecao who were finding it hard to keep up against Serbia, got a breakthrough when the Tottenham striker first found the net in the 63rd minute. 10 minutes later, the 25-year-old doubled the advantage with an acrobatic goal for his national side. He has now scored a total of 9 goals for Brazil, this year.

While the 5-time World Champions acquired the top spot in their group H rankings, Brazil suffered a setback as well. Their star striker Neymar limped off the ground after hurting his right ankle during their 2-0 win.
