This comes as a major setback for France's world cup preparations after N'Golo Kante was already ruled out of the marquee event in Qatar, which starts on November 20.

Notably, the French striker hasn't played since returning to Juventus from Manchester United.

France will begin their campaign on November 23 against Australia.
