2022 Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema could make a sensational return for the World Cup final against Argentina.

There have been reports that the star striker could rejoin France's squad for the final on December 18, having recovered from his thigh injury. The Real Madrid forward has already started training in Madrid.

However, when asked about Benzema's return to the squad, coach Didier Deschamps refused to make any comment on his return for the grand finale.

Notably, Deschamps never replaced Benzema when the 34-year-old striker was ruled out on the eve of the tournament, meaning he is still eligible for a return.
