After the Liverpool fans faced the ire of policemen during the Champions League final, the Anfield chairman, Tom Werner, said that the French government failed to acknowledge the incredibly dangerous situation at Stade de France.

Liverpool chief demanded an apology from the Sports minister of France for irresponsible and unprofessional comments on the treatment of fans at the Champions League final venue.

Notably, Real Madrid won the Champions League title for a record 14th time as they defeated Liverpool 1-0 but the high-octane clash was largely overshadowed by the chaos outside the stadium which delayed the start of the final by around 35 minutes.
French policemen fired tear gas and pepper spray at Liverpool supporters, who were forced to endure a long wait to get into the Champions League final venue.
