Argentina defeat Italy to win inaugural Finalissima

The Copa America winners Argentina outclassed European champions Italy 3-0 in the inaugural Finalissima on Thursday at the Wembley Stadium in London.

Lautaro Martinez scored the opener in the 28th minute and then Angel Di Maria extended the lead with his second goal for the Copa America winners just before halftime. Paulo Dybala made the last scoring for the team in the dying second of the game.

Lionel Messi was simply outstanding throughout this game as he assisted twice in the scoring. Messi was given the Man of The Match award for his exemplary display against the Euro Cup winners.

With this win, Argentina extended their unbeaten streak to 32 matches and counting. The Argentines last lost a match in 2019 against Brazil in the Copa America final.
