Women's umpires to officiate in Ranji Trophy 2022: Report

With gender equality gaining traction in cricket, BCCI is set to deploy female umpires for the Ranji Trophy 2022.

According to an Indian Express report, umpires Vrinda Rathi, Janani Narayanan and Gayathri Venugopalan will officiate in the second round of the Ranji Trophy.

The trio will miss the first leg of the Ranji Trophy, which starts on December 13, since they will be officiation in the India-Australia T20I series. 

After implementing equal pay for women cricketers, this BCCI move has come as a welcome step.
