The West Indies cricket board announced new captains for 50-overs and T20I formats on Wednesday.

Shai Hope was named West Indies' ODI skipper while Rovman Powell will lead the Windies in T20Is.

Their appointments came after Nicholas Pooran stepped down from both positions in November following West Indies' early elimination at the T20 World Cup in Australia.

The first assignments for Hope and Powell come next month when West Indies play three ODIs and as many T20 games in South Africa.
