Hosts South Africa got their first win under their belts at the Women's Cricket World Cup as they beat New Zealand by 65 runs at Boland Park in Paarl on Monday.

Sune Luus' side won the toss and decided to bat first in a match where both teams desperately needed a win.

Chloe Tryon was the top scorer for South Africa with 40 runs from 34 balls as the hosts posted 132 from their 20 overs.

In reply, New Zealand just never got going and lost wickets at regular intervals. Nonkululeko Mlaba took 3/10 and Tryon also snaffled 2/12 as the White Ferns were bowled out for a paltry 67.
