When Virat Kohli takes the field in the 1st Test vs Sri Lanka on Friday, playing 100 Tests is not the only record he would achieve.
The occasion could become even more special as Virat is just 38 runs away from completing 8000 runs in Test cricket. If he achieves the feat, Kohli will become just the 6th Indian to join the elite list of cricketers to get to that milestone. The list so far includes Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag and VVS Laxman.
While Kohli is eyeing history, Team India will also be looking to extend their dominance over Sri Lanka. A win in Mohali will take India's unbeaten streak against the Lankans at home to 21 Tests. Out of the 20 played till now, India has won 1 while 9 Tests have ended in a draw.
