Virat Kohli becomes 1st Indian to complete 200 million followers on Instagram

Cricketer Virat Kohli completed 200 million followers on Instagram on Tuesday to become the first Indian to achieve this milestone.

In an Instagram post, Kohli thanked his fans for their support and said, "200 million strong. Thanks for all your support insta fam."

The Royal Challengers Bangalore batter is the 17th most followed celebrity on Instagram.

With this, the 33-year old batter also became the first cricketer and the first Asian to complete 200 million followers on the Facebook-owned platform. The former India captain is also the third most followed active athlete on Instagram behind Cristiano Ronaldo (450mn) and Lionel Messi (333mn).

Kohli had a nightmare IPL season this year as he scored 341 runs in 16 matches and has been rested for India's upcoming home series against South Africa starting from June 9.
